The Lace Factory Wedding | Jacob & Tristan

Brick walls, a tall old chimney and the Connecticut River just across the street. That is The Lace Factory in Deep River, and it has so much character. As Hartford wedding photographers, we love a venue with a story built into its walls. Deep River is a charming small town along the river, about forty five minutes south of Hartford. It feels quiet, historic and full of New England charm. Couples who love history and a bit of edge will feel right at home here.

The building dates back to 1875, and its landmark chimney still stands tall today. Over the years, the riverfront area served as a shipbuilding yard and a busy landing for ivory headed to local piano factories. Later, around the 1940s, the building became a large lace factory, which is where the name comes from. In 2010, it opened as an event space. The Lace Factory still honors that history in its name and its brick walls.

Inside, the warehouse is a true blank canvas, with exposed brick and a vintage bar. Outside, a garden entrance and courtyard give couples a lovely spot for an outdoor ceremony. Some couples choose the Deep River Landing across the street instead, saying their vows on a wooden deck with river and forest views. Guests can even ride a golf cart over and back. For photos, we get brick, iron, river views and soft garden light all in one place.

Jacob and Tristan’s Autumn Industrial Wedding

Jacob and Tristan met at a dog park in Sacramento, and each of them had a miniature dachshund. Talk about a perfect icebreaker! They have been together for just over two years. Earlier this year, they moved to New Haven so Jacob could start grad school at Yale. These days they love golfing, watching TV, cooking and playing with their dachshund, Howard. We love a love story that started with two tiny dogs.

They planned an autumn wedding, and The Lace Factory’s industrial vibe set the tone. Their colors were muted greens and browns, with a cozy fall aesthetic. Those earthy shades look so rich next to old brick and warm wood. Their celebration also honored Catholic, Chinese and Jewish traditions. Blending so many meaningful pieces into one day is something we always love to see.

Our studio is based in Hartford, and we photograph weddings across the entire state of Connecticut. From the shoreline to small river towns, our team goes wherever couples need us. A drive down the river to Deep River is always worth it. Every wedding photographer on our team takes time to learn each couple’s traditions before the big day. We watch for real laughs, family moments and the little looks between the two of you. We also love adding video, so you can hear your vows again whenever you want.

Wedding Video | Hartford Wedding Videographers

Photos freeze a moment, but a film lets you hear it and feel it all over again. Our videographers love working in a space like this, where old brick, warm light and river views give every frame so much texture. A wedding film can bring back the sound of the vows, the laughter during toasts and the music that filled the night. Wide shots show off the setting, while close shots catch the small details that matter most. Every film we make is shaped around the couple and the way their day really felt. Press play below to watch Jacob and Tristan’s wedding film and step right into their autumn celebration. We hope it shows how video can capture the heart of a day, not just how it looked. If you love it, we would be thrilled to create a film just as special for you and the people you love most.
