Seattle Wedding Photographers at Mckees Beach | Kelly & John

Seattle wedding photographers dream about days like a Mckees Beach wedding. This quiet stretch of shoreline sits near Stanwood, along the calm waters of Port Susan Bay. It is not a wedding venue with a ballroom or a big sign out front. It is a real Pacific Northwest beach, and that is exactly the charm. Saltwater, driftwood and wide open sky set the scene all on their own.

The beach is known for its peaceful feel. Small beach homes line the shore, and the water stretches out toward the horizon. Locals love coming down to watch the sunset glow across the bay. Nearby, Kayak Point and Camano Island add even more coastline to explore. For couples who want something simple and meaningful, a beach like this feels like the perfect place to say I do.

A ceremony on the sand also feels wonderfully relaxed. Guests can hear the waves, feel the breeze and kick off their shoes if they want to. There is no need for fancy decor when nature already brings so much beauty. Every direction offers a new view, from rolling water to soft clouds. For photos, the open light and natural colors are a real gift.

A Love Story That Came Full Circle

Kelly and John met through a dating app in the summer of 2023. Kelly was not sure at first and wanted to keep her options open. Two weeks later, John sent her a playful message asking how the boy shopping was going. That made her call him back, and they set up a second date. During a long, honest talk, they realized they wanted the same things in life: love, marriage and family.

Over the next two years, their love kept growing. John even traveled to Taiwan with Kelly a few times. Then, on Valentine’s Day 2026, John proposed on the very beach where they had their second date. Kelly said yes with a huge smile, and the rest is history! We love how their story is full of honesty, patience and a little bit of fate.

Their wedding brought that story full circle. The ceremony took place right on Mckees Beach, and the celebration then moved to the backyard of their home in Mountlake Terrace. Their colors were white, blue and gray, a perfect match for the sea and sky. Guests enjoyed a mix of Italian and Chinese food, a fun way to celebrate both of their families.

Seattle Wedding Photographers at Mckees Beach

Original Weddings is a team of Seattle wedding photographers who love the variety of the Pacific Northwest. Seattle is our home base, and we photograph weddings in Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett, Kirkland and Olympia. We also travel north along the coast whenever a couple asks us to. Beaches, forests and island towns all have their own magic, and every location teaches us something new about light and story. Photographing a wedding at Mckees Beach near Stanwood gave our team a chance to work with saltwater, open sky and soft coastal light. It was a lovely change of pace from city venues.

Our photographers have plenty of experience with outdoor ceremonies, backyard celebrations and waterfront settings all over Washington. We know how to handle bright sun on the water, gentle overcast skies and the glow of evening light. We keep things easy and fun, so couples can relax and enjoy their day. We also love meeting families and making everyone feel welcome in front of the camera. We watch for the small details, like sand on bare feet or a grandparent wiping away a happy tear. At Original Weddings, we want every couple to open their gallery and feel the day all over again.

Seattle Wedding Videographers at Mckees Beach

Original Weddings also has an experienced team of Seattle wedding videographers. We film celebrations across the Seattle area and often travel to nearby cities like Lynnwood, Edmonds, Marysville and Mount Vernon. Filming a wedding at Mckees Beach near Stanwood was a real treat for our crew. The sound of the water and the open views made every scene feel calm and natural.

Our videographers work quietly, so couples and guests can stay in the moment. We record clear audio of vows and toasts, even when there is a breeze off the water. We also capture candid moments, like family hugs, playful jokes and the first dance. After the wedding, we edit everything into a film that feels warm and personal. Then couples get a keepsake they can share with loved ones near and far. Original Weddings is proud to turn real days into films people want to watch again and again.
