The mansion has a fun history. It was built in 1906, and Edward and Mary Harkness bought it in 1907 as their summer home. They named it Eolia after the island home of the Greek god of the winds. The house has forty two rooms and an elegant Italian villa style. Today the state park manages the grounds and welcomes couples for weddings.

Eolia is surrounded by more than two hundred and thirty seaside acres. Formal gardens bloom on both sides of the house, and an Alpine Rock Garden adds even more charm. Couples can marry in the gardens, then celebrate under a tent on the terrace or inside the mansion. The views of the water from almost every spot make this venue unforgettable.
