Hartford Wedding Photographers at Allen Hill Farm | Elliott & Lauryn

Rolling hills and wide open views make Allen Hill Farm a favorite for our Hartford wedding photographers. This family farm sits in the historic town of Brooklyn, in the quiet northeast corner of Connecticut. The drive in feels peaceful from the very first turn. Fields stretch out in every direction, and the sky feels huge out here.

The farm has a long history. It started as a dairy farm back in 1891, and the same family has cared for it for six generations. Today, Allen Hill Farm is also known for its Christmas trees. Families visit every winter to cut their own tree and sip hot cider. That sense of tradition makes it extra special for a wedding.

The main barn has classic New England post and beam charm. It also has modern comforts and room for receptions of up to 150 guests. The beams and warm wood give the space a cozy glow at night. Big barn doors let in fresh air and soft daylight. Couples who want a rustic feel with a polished touch find it right here. Rows of evergreens in the distance add a deep green backdrop to every season.

Outside, a giant boulder known as The Big Rock is a favorite backdrop for vows. The lawn looks out over rows of Christmas trees and the Quinebaug River valley. When the evening light starts to fall, the whole view turns golden. It is the kind of setting that makes our cameras very happy.

Elliott and Lauryn’s Elegantly Rustic Day

Elliott and Lauryn met in college. They were both part of a student band on campus! Music brought them together, and their love grew from there. Today they love going on walks, finding new adventures and simply being together. They told us they really love feeling present in the moment. We love a small town wedding with a big heart, and this one had plenty.

Their colors were dusty pinks and purples, with bridesmaids in Vintage Mauve. Lauryn wanted the day to feel elegantly rustic. Most of all, they wanted a big party with their closest family and friends. Soft tones like these look lovely against barn wood and green fields. They fit our Rustic editing style beautifully.

Elliott and Lauryn also told us they love candid shots more than posed ones. That makes us smile, because candid moments are what we live for. As a wedding photographer team, we give gentle direction when needed, then let real life happen. The laughs, the hugs and the happy tears are what make a gallery feel true.
