Bishops Bay Country Club Wedding | Bianca & Colin

Lake views, a city skyline and a whole lot of Wisconsin charm come together at Bishops Bay Country Club, and our Madison wedding photographers were thrilled to be there for Bianca and Colin. This private club sits in Middleton, right on the shores of Lake Mendota. From the lawn, you can look across the water and see the Capitol and downtown Madison. It is a view that never gets old. Sunsets over the lake add even more magic to the evening.

The club has a fun backstory too. Its manor house was built in 1933 and was a family home for years. In 1946, it was sold to the Catholic Diocese, and the Bishops of Madison lived there for about half a century. That is how the club got its name! In 1995, the club’s founder bought the property, and it has been growing ever since.

Today, ceremonies take place right on the lakeshore, with the Capitol framed in the background. Receptions happen in the Lakeside Pavilion, a big, open space that can be styled in so many ways. The club handles the catering and drinks, and its team helps with planning and day of coordination. Couples can show up, take a deep breath and soak in the view. It is a setting that feels both elegant and easy.

Bianca and Colin’s Lakeside Day

Bianca and Colin met in college at UW, where they ran on the track team together. We love that they started out as teammates! These days they enjoy hanging out with their dogs, going on adventures and simply spending time together. It is easy to see that these two make a great team in everything they do. Their love for adventure shows in everything they do.

They described their wedding in three words: timeless, minimalistic and beautiful. We love a clean, simple vision like that. It lets the people and the setting shine. Their photos were edited in our Timeless style, which keeps colors true and natural. Lake blues, green lawns and soft skin tones all look just right, and the images will feel lovely for many years.

Waterfront weddings are some of our favorite days to photograph. The light bouncing off the water is soft and pretty, and an open shoreline gives us room to move. As your wedding photographer team, we watch for real moments, like a happy squeeze of the hand during the vows or friends cheering after the kiss. Our wedding videography team loves these settings too, with the breeze, the music and the big cheers.

Our team is based in Madison, and we photograph weddings across the entire state of Wisconsin. Lake houses, country clubs, barns and city venues all keep us busy. Every couple gets our full attention and care. Want more Wisconsin inspiration? Take a stroll through our blog for more real weddings and planning ideas.

Madison Wedding Photographers at Bishops Bay Country Club

Original Weddings is a team of Madison wedding photographers who love capturing couples all around Wisconsin. Madison is our home base, and we regularly photograph weddings in Middleton, Sun Prairie, Verona, Fitchburg and Waunakee. We also travel to Milwaukee, Lake Geneva and the Wisconsin Dells whenever couples need us. Middleton is just a short drive for our team, and Bishops Bay Country Club is one of those places that makes our job feel easy. The lake, the skyline and the wide lawns give us so many beautiful spots for portraits. We were so happy to spend the day there with Bianca and Colin.

Our photographers know how to handle bright lakeside sun, breezy afternoons and warm evening light. We plan portraits for the softest light of the day and keep the timeline relaxed. Original Weddings likes to keep things simple and fun. We give a few gentle prompts, then let couples laugh, wander and enjoy each other. That approach creates timeless photos that feel honest and true. We never rush the couple. We also capture the details couples worked hard on, along with family hugs and happy tears. In the end, we want every image to bring back how the day really felt.

Madison Wedding Videographers at Bishops Bay Country Club

Original Weddings also has a team of Madison wedding videographers who love telling love stories through sound and motion. Our filmmakers are based in Madison and travel across Wisconsin, from Middleton and Sun Prairie to Milwaukee, Lake Geneva and beyond. Filming by the water at Bishops Bay Country Club is always a treat, with the lake and the skyline glowing behind the couple. It is one of the prettiest backdrops in the whole Madison area.

A wedding film saves the moments that photos cannot fully hold. It keeps the vows, the toasts, the laughter and the music that fills the night. Our videographers stay calm and quiet, so couples can focus on each other and their guests. We record clear audio of every speech. We keep an eye on every sweet reaction from family. Afterward, we shape the footage into a personal film with music that fits the mood. Original Weddings wants every couple to press play and feel all that joy again.
