As Seattle engagement photographers, we love capturing engagement sessions that feel natural, adventurous, and completely connected to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Leah and Joseph’s Meadowbrook Farm engagement session in North Bend was the perfect example. With lush meadows, the dramatic silhouette of Mount Si, a peaceful riverbank, and charming downtown streets, their session gave us plenty of beautiful settings to explore while keeping the focus on their connection.
We began the session wandering through the lush grassy pathways at Meadowbrook Farm, with the impressive Mount Si towering in the distance. The mountain created a breathtaking backdrop for their portraits and immediately gave the session that classic North Bend feeling.
Leah looked gorgeous in a flowing white midi dress that moved beautifully through the soft meadow light. Joseph kept things classic and relaxed in a striped polo with dark denim jeans. Together, their outfits complemented the natural surroundings without taking attention away from the two of them.
As they walked through the open fields holding a delicate bouquet of blush roses, everything felt easy and genuine. Their shared laughs, quiet glances, and natural affection made it clear that they were completely comfortable enjoying the afternoon together.
After spending time around the meadow, we headed toward the nearby riverbank to add a little adventure and variety to their engagement gallery. Smooth river stones and sun-bleached driftwood lined the clear running water, creating a beautiful contrast to the open fields from earlier in the session.
Leah and Joseph embraced every opportunity to have fun. They sat together on a fallen log, enjoyed a playful piggyback ride along the rocky shore, and explored the water together. These moments gave us some of our favorite images because they felt less like traditional poses and more like the couple simply enjoying an afternoon together.
One especially playful moment came when Joseph lifted Leah into his arms in the cool water. With the mountain ridge behind them, the photograph captured both the beauty of the location and the adventurous side of their relationship.
As evening approached, we left the natural surroundings and explored the charming streets of downtown North Bend. This gave us a completely different look for the final part of their session.
The glowing flower-draped lamp posts along the town boardwalk created a romantic setting as the light began to soften. After spending the afternoon surrounded by mountains, meadows, and water, these final portraits felt like a sweet and intimate ending to their adventure.
Why Meadowbrook Farm is perfect for engagement sessions
Meadowbrook Farm and the surrounding North Bend area offer so much variety for an engagement session. Couples can begin among open fields with Mount Si in the background, explore the river for more adventurous portraits, and finish downtown for cozy evening photos.
We especially loved how Leah and Joseph embraced every setting. Their session included quiet walks, playful moments, beautiful portraits, and plenty of genuine laughter. That variety allowed us to create a gallery that feels like a complete story rather than a collection of posed photographs.

1. How soon after engagement do you take engagement photos?
There is no set timeline for taking engagement photos. Many couples schedule their session within a few weeks or months after getting engaged, while others wait until they are closer to their wedding date. We recommend choosing a time that works well with your wedding planning and the season you love most. At Original Weddings, we work with our couples to find the right timing and location for their session. Whether you want spring blooms, summer greenery, or cozy fall colors, we can help create photos that feel personal to you.
2. Is $500 a lot for engagement photos?
$500 is not necessarily a lot for engagement photos, as pricing depends on the photographer, session length, experience, location, and what is included. A session may include professional posing guidance, multiple locations or outfits, edited high-resolution images, and a full online gallery. At Original Weddings, we focus on creating a comfortable experience and images that reflect each couple’s personality and style. Rather than choosing a photographer based only on price, consider the quality of their work, what the package includes, and whether their approach matches your vision.
