Nathaniel and Romy first connected on Hinge in the summer of 2022. Romy had recently returned from Spain and was considering going abroad again, so she was open to a relationship that could begin long distance. Her dating profile made her intentions clear. She wanted someone comfortable with distance, intentional about dating, and someone who loved Jesus. Nathaniel responded with one simple question: “Can you define long distance?” That question became an important part of their story.

After long phone conversations, they met for their first date at Bourbon Street restaurant in San Antonio on July 4, 2022. Their summer was filled with meaningful dates and daily conversations. Six weeks later, they officially became a couple. Romy eventually found a job opportunity in Dallas, allowing her to remain in Texas while they continued navigating long distance. Through changing seasons, challenges, and joyful milestones, their shared faith remained central to their relationship. On March 16, 2025, Nathaniel proposed during a trip to New York City, and Romy said yes. Their wedding celebrated not only their commitment but also the journey that brought them together.
