Magnolia Plantation and Gardens Wedding | Amanda & Ken-Tré

Live oaks draped in Spanish moss greet every guest at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and our Charleston wedding photographers adore this place. The property sits along the Ashley River, just outside downtown Charleston. It is one of the most romantic garden settings in the South. Every path seems to lead to another pretty view.

History runs deep here. The Drayton family settled the land in 1676, and the gardens are known as the oldest public gardens in America. Today the property covers nearly 500 acres of gardens, wetlands and riverfront. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens has welcomed couples for generations, and it still feels timeless.

Couples can choose from four special wedding spaces. The Carriage House sits on the banks of the river, with ceremonies under ancient live oaks nearby. The Conservatory is an indoor tropical garden. The veranda of the historic Plantation House looks out over the gardens and the famous Long White Bridge. There is also a covered Pavilion beside a grand lawn. Spanish moss sways in the breeze and makes every portrait feel dreamy.

Each space has its own feel, but all of them are surrounded by flowers and greenery. In spring, the azaleas and camellias put on a colorful show. Soft Southern light filters through the oak branches all year long. For photographers, it is a dream. There are endless spots for portraits without ever leaving the grounds. Every corner of the property seems to have its own little story.

Amanda and Ken-Tré’s Garden Love Story

Amanda and Ken-Tré met at work. They were both serving on active duty in the military when their paths crossed. We are so grateful for their service. Outside of work, they love to travel and hang out with their friends. They are a couple who clearly enjoy every adventure together. Their easy laughter made our job a joy from start to finish.

Amanda told us she loves florals and the scenery at Magnolia. That is easy to understand. The gardens are full of color and texture in every season. Most of all, she wanted her photos to show how much fun the two of them have together. We love that goal, because joy always makes the best pictures.

As a wedding photographer team, we look for laughter, playful moments and real connection. We also make sure the beauty of the gardens shines in each frame. Our Rustic editing style adds warmth and rich color, which fits a Southern garden wedding so well. Our videographers capture the sound and movement of the day right alongside us.

Our studio is based in Charleston, and we serve the entire state of South Carolina. From historic gardens to beach weddings on the islands, we travel wherever your love story leads. You can find more Lowcountry couples on our blog, and you can always contact us with questions.
