Rolling vineyards, stone walls and wide mountain views make Stone Tower Winery one of the most romantic spots in Virginia wine country, and our Washington DC wedding photographers were so excited to be there for Nikkie and Tyler. The winery sits high on Hogback Mountain in Leesburg, about fifteen minutes from the historic downtown. It is close enough for DC guests, yet it feels like a peaceful escape.

This is a working winery owned by the Huber family. Three generations of the family have called Hogback Mountain home, and they wanted to share its beauty with others. The estate covers hundreds of acres, and the vines are grown right on the property. At around nine hundred feet up, it is the highest point in Loudoun County’s wine country, so the views are truly something special. Wine lovers and view lovers both feel right at home.

Couples have lots of choices here. They can say their vows in the vineyard or beside a pond with a stone grotto behind them. Cocktail hour can flow between the patio and the Barrel Bar Room. Then guests walk through a barrel cave into the Vineyard View Ballroom for dinner and dancing. Stone, wood and soft lighting give every space a mix of rustic charm and elegance.

Nikkie and Tyler’s Love Story

Nikkie and Tyler met while working at a luxury gym in New York City. Tyler was a personal trainer, and Nikkie worked the front desk. To Nikkie, Tyler was like a beam of sunlight. Tyler was taken by Nikkie’s blue eyes. They bonded over books, TV shows, movies, art, video games and the fact that they both went to school for theatre.

After about a year of friendship, Tyler moved just a few blocks away. They started hanging out almost every night and even began watching The Sopranos together. One night, Nikkie asked what they were. After a bit of talking, Tyler kissed her, and the rest is history! Their theme was ethereal and classic with vintage touches. Their colors were sage, merlot, white, blush, burgundy and dusty blue. The bridesmaids planned to wear merlot, with flowers mostly in white with blush, burgundy and blue.

Winery weddings are always a treat to photograph. Rows of vines, stone details and golden evening light give us so many beautiful backdrops. As your wedding photographer team, we love catching the small moments too, like friends laughing over a glass of wine or a quiet look shared at the altar.
