Mountain views, pine forests and a whole lot of Colorado charm make a Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding one of our favorite days as Denver wedding photographers. This ranch sits in Larkspur, tucked between Denver and Colorado Springs. It stretches across hundreds of acres of hills, meadows and forest at the foot of Spruce Mountain. The ranch has been family owned since 1999, and that personal care shows in every detail.

What makes this place so special is that it is really two venues in one. The Upper Ranch and the Lower Ranch sit more than a mile apart, and each has its own style. Couples can choose from cozy spaces like Albert’s Lodge, which feels like a classic mountain lodge, or the Ponderosa Room, a dramatic two story space with large doors that open to the landscape. There is even a charming chapel for couples who love a more traditional feel.

Outdoor ceremony spots are just as impressive. The Mountainside ceremony site rests on the hillside with Spruce Mountain rising behind it. Other areas look out over a lake, meadows and wildflowers. Handcrafted wood details, rustic touches and modern comforts come together all over the property. With so many indoor and outdoor choices, couples can plan a beautiful day in almost any season.

From Opposite Coasts to One Big Adventure

Faith and Brandon met at their church, in a group for folks in their thirties, almost a year to the day before their wedding. Faith grew up in California, and Brandon is from Florida. They come from opposite coasts, but both found their way to Colorado. It feels like the mountains were waiting to bring them together!

These two are beach and nature lovers who are happiest outside. They also love a good movie date night and cheering at a hockey game. They describe themselves as laid back, and that easygoing spirit made their wedding day feel so relaxed and joyful. We could feel their warmth the moment we met them.

Their wedding style mixed rustic and natural touches. Woodsy browns blended with shades of blue, from steel to navy. Glass vases, lots of candles and blue and white flowers added a soft glow. They wanted the day to feel like summer camp, so guests enjoyed lawn games, board games, s’mores and even an ice cream cart from a local shop. What a fun idea! Guests of every age had something to enjoy.
