They met on Hinge in October of 2021 while balancing their studies he was completing his PhD in Marine Biology, and she was earning her Masters in Public Health. Their connection grew quickly, and soon they were spending weekends together, cooking, and sharing long drives along the coast. After Zechariah earned his PhD, the couple moved to Portland so Tova could attend medical school. Between classes, research, and caring for their two cats, Felix and Kamala, they still make time for hikes, paddle boarding, and tending to their garden. Earlier this year, during a trip to Chile to celebrate Tova’s milestone in med school, Zechariah proposed on a balcony overlooking Valparaiso and the ocean a moment as stunning as their love story.
