Its maximalist style, hand painted murals, fireplaces, and private library give the venue a look that feels very different from a traditional Seattle wedding space.

The venue is known for its whimsical details, including a 1931 life size animatronic elephant, while the dining room features two cascading fireplaces and French doors. The Ruins offers several indoor spaces for different parts of a wedding celebration. The Dining Room is the recommended ceremony location, while the Ballroom can also be used for ceremonies and receptions. The Ballroom features a hand painted mural and a stage, and the Lounge provides additional space for guests. The venue also includes a courtyard and private library that add variety to the overall event space.
The design of The Ruins is a major part of the wedding experience. Two cascading fireplaces and whimsical French doors stand out in the Dining Room, while the Ballroom features a hand painted mural with hidden Pacific Northwest creatures. The private library, lounge, and other eclectic details provide additional settings throughout the celebration. Herban Feast provides the in house catering, with fresh, seasonal ingredients used in its menus. The venue can accommodate up to 150 guests for a seated reception and up to 300 guests for a standing reception.
The Ruins Wedding Cost
The total cost of a wedding at The Ruins depends on the date, event space, guest count, food and beverage selections, and other details. Current published pricing lists the venue rental at around $5,000 and up. The food and beverage minimum also starts around $5,000, so these figures should be viewed as starting costs rather than the total wedding price.
A 23% service charge currently applies to most contracted event line items, while venue rental fees are excluded. Taxes and additional selections can also affect the final cost.
