Who says magic only happens once? For Barbra and Scott, it took nearly two decades—and a midnight boat ride—for fate to finally seal the deal. Their wedding at The Resort at Longboat Key Club was the perfect celebration of a love that patiently waited, grew stronger, and finally found its forever on the sun-soaked shores of Longboat Key.
The Resort at Longboat Key Club wedding brought together coastal elegance and boho chic flair in a setting that couldn’t have been more idyllic. As a Tampa wedding photography team, we’ve captured countless stunning weddings across Florida, but this one had a kind of warmth and sincerity that stuck with us. From the start, it was all about love, family, and shared dreams.
Barbra and Scott first met while working in insurance nearly 20 years ago. Over the years, their paths kept crossing until a serendipitous reunion at a conference in 2010. That night ended with a boat ride from Tampa to St. Petersburg—and the beginning of their long-distance love story. Their first real date was a weekend getaway to Key West, and after years of on-and-off dating, they knew in 2016 that they were meant to be.
Their wedding day began with the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready in shades of blue and beige, perfectly matching the beachy color palette. Swanky Soiree Events crafted every detail—from the ocean-inspired décor to the reception setup—with care and creativity. The couple exchanged vows beneath a floral-draped arbor, waves lapping in the background, before celebrating with their loved ones under the stars. DJ DeLeon Entertainment kept the dance floor alive all night long.
