When Vinology showed up on our calendar, our whole team got excited to head to downtown Ann Arbor. As Detroit wedding photographers, we love a venue that feels warm the second you walk in. Vinology is a wine bar and restaurant right on Main Street, in the busy heart of the city. It is stylish, cozy and friendly all at once. Guests feel at home before the first toast is even made.
So why do couples love Vinology so much? A big part is the look. Exposed brick walls and rich wood details give every room a soft, golden glow. Dozens of blown glass bubble lights hang from the ceiling, and they shine like little moons in photos. The space mixes city cool with old charm, so it never feels stiff or cold. It is the kind of room where people want to stay and talk all night.
Another reason is how easy the day can flow. Couples can host the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all in one spot, so nobody has to travel between places. Smaller groups can use a charming private room, and bigger parties can take over the whole lower level. The kitchen serves creative, tasty food that guests still talk about later. Downtown Ann Arbor is also full of shops, cafes and hotels, which makes things simple for guests coming from out of town.
Andrew and Nicole’s Romantic Candlelit Wedding
Andrew and Nicole met on Bumble in June 2025, and they have been inseparable ever since. They made it official on June 18th and quickly knew this was something special. That fall they moved in together in Ann Arbor, and a few weeks later Andrew proposed. Nicole says the answer was an easy yes. Andrew is her best friend. They love traveling, golfing, trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends.
Their wedding plans matched their love story perfectly. They wanted a day that felt romantic, warm and welcoming, elegant but not too formal. Their vision was classic romance with a touch of garden charm. They planned lots of candlelight, soft florals and plenty of greenery. Marigold was their main color, paired with soft lilac accents and gold details. Most of all, they wanted guests to feel comfortable, enjoy a great meal and celebrate together.

Detroit Wedding Photographers at Vinology
Original Weddings is a team of Detroit wedding photographers who care about real moments. We look for the quiet laugh, the proud parent and the hug that lasts a little longer than planned. Our photographers give gentle direction when it helps, then step back so you can simply enjoy your day. Before the wedding, we learn your timeline and talk about the shots that matter most to you. That way nothing important slips past us, and you can stay present with the people you love. We also make time for portraits of the two of you, choosing quiet spots and flattering light so you look and feel your best. Those few minutes together often become a favorite part of the day.
Our team is based in Detroit, and we travel all over Michigan for weddings. We often work in Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Royal Oak, Novi and Grand Rapids. Every couple gets photographers who arrive early, stay calm and bring a friendly energy to the room. We work smoothly with planners, caterers and DJs, so the day feels easy for everyone. After the celebration, you receive beautifully edited images in the style you picked. Our goal is simple. We want to give you photos you will love looking at for many years to come. We also cover engagement sessions, rehearsal dinners and welcome parties, so your whole celebration can be told by one team. That consistency makes your memories feel complete and connected.
Detroit Wedding Videographers at Vinology
Original Weddings also has a team of Detroit wedding videographers who capture the sound and motion of your celebration. Vows, toasts and happy tears feel even more real when you can hear them again. Our videographers move quietly and stay out of the way, so your guests act naturally. We plan the coverage with you ahead of time, so the moments you care about most are always on our list. We also gather little details, like your rings, flowers and decor, so your film shows the full feeling of the celebration.
We film weddings across Michigan, from Detroit to Ann Arbor, Lansing and Traverse City. Each film is edited with care, set to music and shaped into a story that feels just like the two of you. Many couples tell us their wedding film is the keepsake they watch the most. Having one team for photos and video also keeps planning simple and makes every part of your day feel connected. We take time to understand your style first, so your film feels natural and true to who you are as a couple.
