Our engagement photography services took us to Litchfield, Ohio, where Madison and Maxx welcomed us onto the farm they are bringing back to life. This was not a rented spot or a public park. It was their own land, right across the street from the house they share, and that made the whole session feel personal from the very first click.
The property is an old dairy farm, roughly two hundred years old, with weathered barns scattered across wide open fields. In April of 2025, a fire hit the property while the owner was in the middle of selling it. Madison and Maxx put in an offer, it was accepted, and their dream of owning land and one day running a farm of their own suddenly became real.
The work since then has been huge. The fields were overgrown, and many of the barn roofs were failing or gone. The couple has done almost all of the work themselves. Barns have fresh paint, roofs are repaired, new paths wind through the grass, and some buildings have been rebuilt. Every corner of the farm shows how much they care. It is a true labor of love, and you can feel it the moment you step onto the land.
Madison and Maxx’s Farm Engagement Session
Madison and Maxx met eight years ago. For a while they were what they call medium distance while Madison was away at college. She came home on weekends, or the two of them met halfway just to spend time together. In 2020 Maxx bought their house, and they have lived in Litchfield ever since.
Choosing the farm for their engagement photos was an easy call. It means the world to them, and it marks the start of the rest of their lives. For an engagement photographer, nothing beats a place with that much meaning behind it. We wandered through tall grass, tucked in under the trees, and soaked up warm golden light as the sun dropped low. Their old pickup truck even made an appearance, and it fit the farm perfectly.
