Quartz Mountain State Park Lodge Wedding | Brekyn & Benjie

Choosing the right space for your big day is so important, and Quartz Mountain State Park is a truly stunning choice for any couple. Our Oklahoma City wedding photographers loved capturing every single moment in this beautiful space, which is located in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. The venue features timeless, grand architectural details made of natural stone and wood that elevate the atmosphere of a wedding, making it an absolute dream for couples who want an elegant backdrop for their celebration.

We love photographing at this venue because the design allows us to capture breathtaking images with ease. Massive glass windows and open-air patios line the lodge, which makes our job a joy because every single angle looks like a work of art. The combination of rustic stone walls, towering mountains, and glistening lakeside views creates a magical, airy feeling that makes the entire property glow, especially when the warm sun peaks over the rocky hills.

Quartz Mountain State Park Lodge Wedding Moments

The happy couple, Brekyn and Benjie, actually met through a mutual friend while living in Colville, Washington. Even though he processes trees for a living and she works hard to protect them, they hit it off right away and proved that a Washington mountain man and an earthy Okie could fall in love. After more than four amazing years together sharing a beautiful home and a wonderfully goofy dog, they decided to celebrate their journey with a romantic wedding themed around wildflowers and bright summer colors.

The wedding ceremony felt incredibly sacred yet filled with an energetic joy that kept everyone smiling. The couple stood together on a scenic outdoor brick terrace, framed by the massive granite mountains and a beautiful wooden wedding arch adorned with bright, colorful floral arrangements. Guests watched the lovely couple exchange their vows from rows of elegant dark chairs, and you can truly feel the deep emotion of that moment as the bright blue Oklahoma sky framed their love perfectly.

After the ceremony concluded, we explored the stunning park grounds to find the best spots for romantic portraits of the newlyweds. The outside of the property features rugged mountain trails, dramatic boulders, and peaceful water banks that provided a clean, timeless background for their photos. Benjie looked incredibly sharp in his classic grey suit with a warm smile, while Brekyn looked absolutely stunning in her flowing white bridal gown, carrying a vibrant bouquet bursting with pink, orange, and yellow summer blooms.

We also made sure to take some fun, high-energy photos with the entire bridal party around the beautiful lakeside pathways. The bridesmaids wore elegant dresses in a rich terracotta color, which brought a wonderful pop of warmth to the rugged green and grey mountain backdrop. The groomsmen looked dapper in their matching light grey suits, laughing and cheering for the newlyweds as the couple shared a sweet kiss. Everyone showed so much excitement and love, and we loved documenting these genuine, happy moments.

The reception inside the grand lodge ballroom was an absolute blast and was filled with beautifully curated details that brought the space to life. The tables were decorated with rustic wooden elements and clear glass jars holding bright, wild summer flowers that made the room feel warm and inviting. The celebration featured a gorgeous white tiered wedding cake sitting on a beautiful wooden platter, and the couple shared a joyful moment together laughing and talking with their family and friends on the dance floor.

1. Can you get married at a state park in Oklahoma?

Yes, you can get married at many state parks in Oklahoma, including scenic locations like Quartz Mountain State Park. Most parks allow weddings, but couples usually need to obtain a permit or reservation depending on the size of the event, setup requirements, and specific park rules. Small elopements are often easier to arrange, while larger weddings may require approval for use of pavilions, lodges, or designated ceremony areas. It’s always best to contact the park office in advance to confirm guidelines, fees, and available locations to ensure a smooth and legal ceremony experience.

2. What’s the average cost of a wedding in Oklahoma?

The average cost of a wedding in Oklahoma typically ranges from about $15,000 to $25,000, depending on guest count, venue, and services chosen. Smaller weddings or elopements can cost significantly less, while larger celebrations with full catering, décor, photography, and entertainment can go higher. Venue choice is one of the biggest factors, along with catering and vendor packages. Outdoor locations and state parks can help reduce costs, while all-inclusive venues may offer bundled pricing for convenience. Ultimately, couples can tailor their budget based on priorities and desired wedding experience.

3. What is the 30–5 rule for weddings?

The 30–5 rule for weddings is a simple timing guideline used to keep events running smoothly. It suggests that guests should arrive about 30 minutes before the ceremony so they can be seated and ready without rushing. The “5” usually refers to the ceremony starting around 5 minutes after the scheduled time or ensuring everyone is fully settled by then. This helps avoid delays, reduces stress, and ensures photographers and planners can capture key moments without interruptions. It is especially useful for outdoor weddings where timing and coordination are very important.
