Varone Market wedding celebrations are some of our absolute favorites to photograph. This charming spot in Denver blends historic character with a fresh, urban feel that’s perfect for modern couples. Originally built as a 1920s Italian grocery store, Varone Market has been thoughtfully restored into a warm and inviting event space. It offers an elegant mix of exposed brick, high ceilings, and natural light — all the ingredients for dreamy wedding photography. Every corner tells a story, and that’s what makes it so special for a wedding day filled with emotion, joy, and timeless moments.
Courtney and Hayden’s story is one that truly inspires us. Their journey began back in 2009 in Michigan — high school sweethearts who managed to stay connected through distance, college, and life’s biggest challenges. They supported each other through loss, long distance, and growth. After 15 years together, they now call Denver home, and it felt only fitting that they chose this city to celebrate their love. Their wedding day was all about togetherness, gratitude, and honoring the people who helped shape their story. Every moment reflected deep love and resilience.
The inspiration behind their day was beautiful and heartfelt. They wanted an intimate celebration filled with fall tones — rich burgundy, navy, and gold — bringing warmth and elegance to the space. With no wedding party, the focus remained entirely on their connection and the loved ones who gathered around them. The indoor ceremony created a cozy, romantic atmosphere that felt timeless and true to who they are. For us, as professional wedding photographers and videographers, capturing love stories like this is what we live for — the small glances, the laughter, and the pure emotion that unfolds naturally.
What we love most about photographing at Varone Market is how effortlessly it showcases each couple’s unique personality. Varone Market History In Denver
Varone Market Venue began life as the Varone Italian Market, built in 1912 by John Varone, an immigrant from Calabria, Italy. He ran the grocery and lived with his family above the store. The building was originally a neighborhood market in the Lower Highlands (LoHi) area. Over time it fell into disuse and disrepair after decades of service. In 2014, Scott Nagely purchased the building and began its restoration. He preserved many historic features: brickwork, the original cooler, old signage, the Carriage House. Renovations added modern amenities while honouring the building’s past. Its revival has made it a beloved landmark in Denver.
